Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Shrub invaded area; wet ground; shrubs include mostly native species; Toxicodendron vernix, Cornus sericea, Betula pumila and Ribes hirtellum. Larix laricina also common in area. Herbaceous species include Carex lacustris, C. lasiocarpa, Galium asprellum, G. labradoricum, Solidago patula, Thelypteris palustris, Lathyrus palustris, and Mentha canadensis.
