Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Typha angustifolia dominated sedge meadow zone with significant Cornus sericea. Larix laricina common, but young in area; mature trees on northern and western borders. Common species in area include Dasiphora fruticosa, Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex lasiocarpa, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Thelypteris palustris, Eutrochium maculatum, Carex sterilis, and Solidago ohioensis. Ground moist.
