Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Poweshiek area. Sedge meadow/Eleocharis marl flat with Eleocharis rostellata, Carex sterilis, Symphyotrichum laeve, Drosera rotundifolia, Solidago patula, Dasiphora fruticosa, Apocynum cannabinum, Eriophorum angustifolia, Galium boreale, and Pedicularis lanceolata. On west edge of Populus tremuloides stand with Larix laricina and Toxicodendron vernix ringing the area.
