Prairie fen dominated by Carex, Asteraceae, and grasses but encroachment by shrubs (Rubus, Cornus, Betula, Toxicodendron vernix). A few pockets and walls of shrub-carr and wooded fen. Evidence of some management. Hummocky in areas from Carex stricta, other areas dominated by other Carex and Dasiphora fruticosa. 20m north of cedar thicket, 5m north of Carex stricta to Carex sterilis transition. 70m east of western border. Open Carex meadow with very few shrubs but an occasional cedar tree. 100m area. Carex and Dasiphora fruticosa dominant, Typha becomes more prominent in 15m north. Ground hummocky with Carex sterilis clumps, wet, black to grey.
Population - Fruiting. Associated with Carex sterilis and Eleocharis.
