Elevation: 252 meters (827ft)
Habitat: Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 60m north of access road in east-west center of fen area. Asteraceae dominated by shrubs (1 per 12m2) of Cornus, Toxicodendron vernix, and Rhamnus and Asteraceae Eutrochium maculatum and other non-flowering asters. Almost everything is browsed.
Description: Population - Sapling within quadrat, very much browsed over, larger adult trees in area with white fruits, 1-3 per 1m2 for 40m2.
