Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. At the base of "finger" into Fay Lake, 30m from west coast, 50m from east coast. Sedge dominant with Asteraceae and shrubs (Frangula alnus, Toxicodendron vernix, Cornus, Larix laricina). Ground hummocky (5-15cm tall) and moist. Area may have been sprayed.
Population - Clumped, pretty common, seen amongst Carex, 2-5 per 1m2 for 40m2.
