Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 70m southwest of oak tree clump. 10m north of two track, midway between 2 high voltage lines. In very wet area, but no standing water. No shrubs north or south for 10-30m, east-west for almost 100m. Typha and Carex lacustris dominant. Old Typha cattails stand in quad, but this years do not.
Population - Clumped, 5-6 individuals per 1m2 area, wet soil, found near Typha, Carex lacustris, and ferns. Dominent in surrounding area for 30m2.
