Habitat: Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Very flat area; evidence of recent burn (charred culms) mostly sedges with some Dasiphora fruticosa. Not hummocky; sedge meadow; vegetation not thick; likely due to burn. Pretty dry ground for a prairie fen (still moist).
Description: Flowers -NA.Scattered in area; about 1 per 2 sq. m for 20 sq. m; none in flower; growing singly; about 20-25cm tall.
