Habitat: In deciduous forest on loamy soils derived from Antlers Sand, atop high bank of intermittent stream draining middle canyon. Associates include Agrimonia rostellata, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Aster texanus, Aureolaria grandiflora, Celtis laevigata, Cercis canadensis, Cornus drummondii, Desmodium spp., Elephantopus sp., Elymus virginicus, Frangula caroliniana, Fraxinus texensis, Leersia virginica, Maclura pomifera, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Passiflora lutea, Quercus muhlenbergii, Ruellia strepens, Sanicula canadensis, Sophora affinis, Symphoricarpos orbiculatus, Ulmus rubra, Verbesina virginica, Viburnum rufidulum. Forming loose colonies via short stolons; no plants in flower at this season.
Reproductive Condition: sterile
