Habitat: Locally abundant (during wet spring) in exotic hay meadow on mix of heavy clay and lighter-colored sandy loam on level upland underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Ammoselinum butleri, Anagallis arvensis, Anemone berlandieri, Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Dichanthium annulatum, Euphorbia spathulata, Gaura brachycarpa, Geranium texanum, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Houstonia parviflora, Lesquerella lindheimeri, Limnodea arkansana, Limnosciadium pumilum, Mecardonia procumbens, Nassella leucotricha, Oenothera speciosa, Senecio tampicanus, Sisyrinchium sp., Sonchus sp., Tridens albescens, Triodanis perfoliata, Verbena halei, Vicia sp.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
