Habitat: Occasional along road through medium-stature cenizo-guajillo shrubland on shallow stony clay soils over Edwards Limestone on nearly level bench-like upland in valley between rocky slopes. Associates include Abutilon wrightii, Acacia berlandieri, Bouteloua curtipendula, B. trifida, Chloris cucullata, Erigeron modestus, Erioneuron pilosum, Evolvulus sericeus, Jatropha dioica, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Leucophyllum frutescens, Opuntia lindheimeri, Pappophorum bicolor, Salvia ballotiflora, Sophora secundiflora, Thelesperma simplicifolium, Yucca treculeana.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
