Habitat: Local, a few dozen plants in partial shade of live oaks on gravelly alluvium on moderate slope just above active floodplain of perennial stream. Associates include Melica nitens, Phlox pilosa, Smilax bona-nox, Verbesina virginica.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
