Habitat: Annual; petals dark blue-violet; common in exotics-dominated hay meadow on level upland underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Astragalus brazoensis, Bouchetia erecta, Bouteloua rigidiseta, Cirsium texanum, Cynodon dactylon, Desmanthus sp., Euphorbia spathulata, Evolvulus sericeus, Gaillardia suavis, Galium virgatum, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Helianthus annuus, Isocoma drummondii, Lythrum alatum, Menodora heterophylla, Nassella leucotricha, Oenothera speciosa, Plantago rhodosperma, Prosopis reptans, Ratibida columnifera, Sonchus asper, Stachys crenata.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
