Habitat: Occasional in diverse, late successional, recently ungrazed mid to tallgrass grassland on loose fine sand of S Texas sand sheet, level upland. Grass dominants include Schizachyrium scoparium, Paspalum plictatulum, P. monostachyum, and Elyonurus tripsacoides. Other components include Acalypha radians, Aeschynomene viscidula, Bouteloua hirsuta, Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Chloris cucullata, Croton argyranthemus, C. capitatus, C. glandulosus, Digitaria texana, Diodia teres, Eragrostis sessilispica, Eriogonum multiflorum, Evolvulus alsinoides, Froelichia floridana, Gaillardia aestivalis, Galactia canescens, Helianthus praecox ssp. runonyii, Heliotropium texanum, Oxalis berlandieri, Palafoxia texana, Phyllanthus abnormis, Rhynchosia americana, Stemodia tormentosa, Stillingia sylvatica, and Triplasis purpurea.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
