Locality: United States, Texas, Colorado, Attwater Prairie Chicken NWR. On high terrace along W side of San Bernard River floodplain. Ca. 1.5 airmiles NW to NNW of mouth of Coushatta Creek, 4.2 airmiles SSE of I-10 bridge over San Bernard River. Eagle Lake NE Quadrangle. Elev. 170 - 175 ft.

Habitat: Locally frequent in sandy loam along margin of riparian woodland. Small shrub with red fruits. Woodland association include Ampelopsis arborea, Bumelia lanuginosa, Campsis radicans, Celtis laevigata, Cocculus carolinus, Fraxinus pensylvanica, Ilex vomitoria, Platanus occidentalis, Poncirus trifoliata, Quercus nigra, Sambucus canadensis, Sapium sebiferum, Smilax bona-nox, Solanum capsicastrum, Toxicodendron radicans, Ulmus amreicana, Vitis mustangensis, Bidens bipinnatia, Calyptocarpus vialis, Carex sp., Chasmanthium latifolium, Elephantopus carolinianus, Elymus virginicus, Geum canadense, and Paspalum langei.
Reproductive Condition: fruiting=late
