Habitat: Lower slope seepage peat bog. Geology - Quaternary Terrace below Queen City Sand. Soils - Pelham (Arenic Paleaquults). Associates include Apios americana, Asclepias rubra, Eleocharis equisetoides, Eriocaulon decangulare, Gratiola brevifolia, Helianthus angustifolius, Hydrocotyle umbellata, Hypoxis hirsuta, Iris virginica, Juncus coriaceus, Liatris pycnostachya, Mayaca fluviatilis, Myrica cerifera, Osmunda cinnamomea, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Ptilimnium costatum, Rhexia virginica, Sarracenia alata, Utricularia gibba, Woodwardia virginica, Carex atlantica, Xyris iridifolia, and Sphagnum sp.
