Habitat: Shrub 1-2 ft. tall. Frequent in brushy live oak woodland on soils mapped as Faddin fine sandy loam, on isolated deposit of Deweyville Formation. Associates include Acacia rigidula, Berberis trifoliolata, Capsicum annuum, Celtis pallida, C. reticulata, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Ehretia anacua, Gleditisia triacanthos, Prosopis glandulosa, Quercus virginiana, Sabal minor, Sapindus saponaria, Smilax bona-nox, Solanum capsicastrum, Ulmus crassifolia, Vitis mustangensis, and Zanthoxylum fagara.
Reproductive Condition: fruiting=late
