Prairie fen dominated by Carex, Asteraceae, and grasses but encroachment by shrubs (Rubus, Cornus, Betula, Toxicodendron vernix). A few pockets and walls of shrub-carr and wooded fen. Evidence of some management. Hummocky in areas from Carex stricta, other areas dominated by other Carex and Dasiphora fruticosa. 50m east of road, 200m north of car parked of Mt Hope Road. Prairie fen to prairie transition zone. Asteraceae dominated with some vine holding plants together. Occasional Salix shrub.
Perigynia - round, white-green, easily fall off, not spongy or easily compressed.Population - most abundant Carex around, hidden in asters, fruits falling off.
