Locality: USA, Utah, Box Elder, From the train tracks at the north end of the Newfoundland Mountains, take the road on the east side of the mountain for 2.4 km to a 4-way. Continue straight for 1.2 km to another intersection. Turn right and continue for 1.7 km to the collection site.

Habitat: Desert Shrub community within a meandering dry wash.
Substrate: Dry sandy soil.
Associated Species: Sarcobatus vermiculatus, Purshia mexicana, Grayia spinosa.
