Emergent Marsh (within a Great Lakes Marsh). The stream with the wild rice winds its way through Calamagrostis canadensis and Carex stricta/C. lacustris meadows. At the waters edge, growing with the wild rice, Sparganium eurycarpum is very abundant, with Bidens sp., Sagittaria sp., Typha sp. and various Juncus sp. present as well. Scattered Alnus rugosa are present along the stream edge, and as water levels have decreased due to dry weather and historical ditching, Phalaris arundinacea and Phragmites australis are encroaching.
