Locality: United States, Florida, Santa Rosa, Gulf Islands National Seashore, Naval Live Oaks Unit. Higher ridges just south of gated entrance along south side of US 98 just west of Visitor Center and labeled on topo map as old site of Girl Scout Camp.

Habitat: Higher ridges. Soil characteristics: Kureb sand, 0 to 8 percent slopes (20) - very deep, excessively drained, nearly level to sloping soil on broad uplands on the coastal plain formed in marine, aeolian, or fluvial sands. Associated plant species: Prunus caroliniana, Paspalum urvillei, Erythrina herbacea, Vitis rotundifolia, Vitis aestivalis var. aestivalis, Diodia teres, Phlox pilosa ssp. pilosa, Valerianella radiata. Rare.
