Habitat: Geology: granitic substrates.
Associated Species: Brahea armata, Dodonaea viscosa, Nolina, Baccharis sarothroides, and Eriogonum fasciculatum.
Description: Herbaceous perennial, flowers pink-magenta fruits along ground ovules 34, 30. Note: A. aff. gruinus but with glabrous frts.. almost approaching A. douglasii in frt. size & ovule #, but firs, are purplish.
